If the tenth ratchet tooth has been engaged, the parking brake should be promptly adjusted by an authorized GEM dealer in accordance with the GEM service manual.
Shown to the right is a close-up image of the park brake lever reaching its hard stop at its maximum travel position. This is also the point when the park brake lever has engaged the tenth ratchet tooth, indicating that adjustment is necessary. The rubber park brake boot has been removed in this image.
