Foot Pedals

Brake Pedal

Depress the brake pedal

to slow or stop the vehicle. Apply the brakes while starting the engine.

When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake light comes on. Check the brake light before each ride.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Apply the brakes. The brake light should come on after about 10 mm (0.4 in.) of pedal travel.

Throttle Pedal

Push the throttle pedal

down to increase engine speed. Spring pressure returns the pedal to the rest position when released. Always check that the throttle pedal returns normally before starting the engine.

This vehicle is equipped with an automatic throttle release switch, which is designed to reduce the risk of a frozen or stuck throttle. If the throttle cable should stick in an open position when the operator releases the throttle pedal, engine speed will be limited, and power to the rear wheels will be reduced.
